EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - After three years, T.O. is no longer a Cowboy. Called by some "a distraction," many fans see his release as only helping the team.
"I'm glad," said Sandra Smith. "I think it's going to be best for the team."
"They probably should have gotten rid of him or traded him off way before now," said Dennis Dearion.
"I think they've lost a good player but his attitude does not allow him to be that," said Carl Garrett.
"He's good for about one or two catches a game and I think with the young players coming up, they can have better attitudes," said Tim Patton.
We caught up with East Texas' biggest Cowboys fan contestant Danny McNeese, who is also not sad to see T.O. go.
"He's been trouble wherever he went," said Danny McNeese. "I guess it finally caught up with him."
"He was trouble," said Belinda Seals. "I mean if you are going to cause trouble you shouldn't be able to make that kind of money and get away with it."
But there were a few who wanted T.O.'s show in Dallas to go on.
"I don't watch it that much but what I did see," said Lorine Swanson. "I just think they are making a mistake."
"They had just renewed his contract last year so I was very surprised that they wanted to get rid of him," said Marsha Clay. "I thought he was a good player myself."
Terrell Owens released a statement this afternoon. He said, ''I want to thank Jerry Jones, Coach Phillip and the Dallas Cowboys for the opportunity to be a member of the team for the past three years. A big thanks to the fans. You've been awesome! I look forward to the upcoming season and continuing to play in the NFL."
