HENDERSON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A new sheriff means a new approach to fighting crime.

Henderson County Sheriff Ray Nutt led seven illegal gambling stings this past weekend. They confiscated more than $37,000.

They also seized 330 computer mother boards that were responsible for powering the eight liner gambling machines, but illegal gambling is not the only crime Nutt is concerned about.

"Most of these 8 liner places are controlled access, so I can't think of many better places to deal dope then inside one of them," said Sheriff Nutt. "In fact we found 11 grams of meth in one of the eight liners of places."

Since Nutt took over in January, crime has taken a hit. The department served over 165 arrest warrants last month alone.
