WHITEHOUSE, TX (KLTV) - Haircuts for a cause, that was the mission of an East Texas hair salon Saturday.  At "Salon Pink 2" in Whitehouse, stylists cut hair all day, with the proceeds going to P.A.T.H., or People Attempting To Help.

Helping even more, East Texans brought in donations for discounts on haircuts, $8.00 off for the ladies, and $4.00 off for men and children.

"The community is very important and with the economy like it is right now, there's going to be more people that need help and, so we're just the beginning, and we want to see other people follow in our footsteps and give something back," saod head stylist Carolyn Bockmon.  Those at P.A.T.H. say this is the largest fund raising attempt from any group.  The stylists say they'll continue to cut until they run out of people needing haircuts.

A pair of wildlife enthusiasts made a stop in East Texas over the weekend, on June 19 they caught one of the biggest alligators found thus far in an Athens lake. But their hunting trip wasn’t all about the thrill, the roundup was to remove the gator from the site of a boy scout camp. "When it comes to Texas, warm water with woods in a pretty secluded area you're going to have alligators,” says wildlife expert Kyle Green.
