LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - East Texas police make a gruesome discovery in a quiet Longview neighborhood, as three people are found dead in what investigators are calling a possible murder suicide.

News spread quickly in the Pine Tree neighborhood, as residents simply couldn't believe it.

"I can't believe this would happen, like across the street in the neighborhood here," said area neighbor Josh Diaz.

"Very tragic, we see these people on a weekly basis either driving by the house, or in the yard, and we won't see them anymore," said fellow neighbor Larry King.  Police say all three victims were shot.  A handgun was found next to one of the victims bodies, leading investigators to believe the husband in the case shot his wife and son then killed himself.

"At this point in time we're unsure of the circumstances that caused the deaths," said Sergeant Ben Kemper.  The question for investigators now is why?

"What we have to do is we have to look into who these people were and what was going on in their lives, so we may determine what may have caused their deaths," said Kemper.  Neighbors say they noticed newspapers piling up outside the home since Thursday.  Police say one neighbor actually looked inside the home and saw two people lying on the floor.

"It kind of makes me feel uncomfortable," said Diaz.  "It doesn't feel right."  What happened in the home three days ago, police say may never be known.  Police are not releasing the identities of the victim's until family members have been notified.  An autopsy has been ordered.

The John Tyler Lions always seem to look sharp in their uniforms. But thanks to East Texas lawyer Keith Miller, the Lions will look better and play safer. Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag. Miller's donation of 7,500 dollars, will go to help the lions cover that cost. "Keith Miller's been a big sponsor of John Tyler High School football program for years now.  I know it's...More >>

But today they are back in the pads, and looking to turn their speed into touchdowns.  Competing in District 9-4A, Kilgore has always had a strong run game that helped them become the 2016 District Champs.
