LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - There was a lot of "Mardi Gras shaking" going on East Texas style. Seniors at Highland Pines Nursing home threw on their beads and costumes for their annual Mardi Gras festival.

Seniors let the good times roll with music and lots of fun. The nursing home facility was decked in official mardi gras colors. Green for faith, gold for power, and purple for justice.

"Each year has just grown more and more and we decorate every inch," said Annette Simpkins, a Highland Pines administrator. "Everybody gets there beads and its just an exciting time!"

It is the ninth year Highland Pines residents have thrown a Mardi Gras festival with 150 folks celebrating Fat Tuesday.
