Landers resigns as Lady Cardinals head coach

Longtime Trinity Valley Lady Cardinals coach and athletic director Michael Landers is moving on.

Landers announced his resignation today, having accepted an offer to become the athletic director and head basketball coach at Baton Rouge Community College.

Landers is currently in his ninth year as coach at TVCC. The coach told the school the decision was based mainly for personal reasons. Landers wife, former TVCC player and assistant coach Kenya Larkin-Landers is an assistant coach at LSU in Baton Rouge.

Landers last day with TVCC will be April 13. Trinity Valley will start the search for Landers' replacement. During his time at coach with TVCC, Landers led TVCC to a 258-35 record and led the Lady Cardinals to the national championship in 2003-2004.

W.P. "Rip" Drumgoole will take over as athletic director. Drumgoole is current the president for student services at TVCC.
