TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Things can get a little complicated at Lee tennis.
"We have the triplets, a set of twins, Mack on the boys is a twin, so we have 6 out of 8 on the boys team that are a multiple."
That's right, six, the Lockridge twins, Mack and Emily, the identical Brooks twins, Deren and Derek, and the Martell triplets...James, Mitch and Charlie.
"I have gotten used to it," said Mack Lockridge, "but when all the freshman came in, it was weird, because the whole way down, it was Martell, Martell, Martell, Brooks, Brooks, and then Lockridge, and I just did not know what to think about it."
Other teams are just as confused, the multiple multiples, often cause multiple mistakes.
"Especially when we go to tournaments," said Lee tennis coach Jessica Taylor, "and the coach goes, 'hey, I just called that kids name, and here I am calling this kids name again, and I am like 'yeah, that is one of our twins,' and they are like ONE of the twins?!"
"They think it is different, they have probably never seen a team with all these multiples on it, and then all of a sudden we take up all the spots on varsity," said Derek Brooks.
Of course, there is something to be said about strength in numbers.
"I would find it intimidating, just that there are so many of us, because we are pretty much the same level, and we have worked hard our whole lives, so when they here all of our names, they probably think it is trouble," said James Martell.
The multiple sets of siblings, do feel for there coach, 6 brothers is tough.
