If you're having heart attack, you would probably do anything to increase your chances of saving your heart tissue. A new study called "Ice-It" done at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital is giving East Texas patients that chance. Wales Dear is an 83 year old man from Palestine. When Dear had a heart attack this week, doctors gave him a heart catechization in addition to an angioplasty. The heart cath is part of the new study. Basically the catheter cools the body to 93 degrees which can save your heart tissue. Doctors hope this study will help save lives. Dear is glad they did it for him because now he is pain free and has healthy heart tissue.
