Road rage lead to gunfire on Loop 323

TYLER, TX - Just before midnight on Sunday a young man called police. Someone had shot at his truck while he was driving on Loop 323. The man described the vehicle that shot at him to dispatchers and soon after, an officer spotted the vehicle.

The officer pulled the suspects over on South Vine Avenue.

Three adult males and two juveniles were detained by officers. Three handguns were found in the vehicle, along with a shotgun in the trunk. The investigation led to the arrest of all three adult males.

The driver was identified as Eduardo Vidales, 34, of Tyler.  He was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, and Tampering with Identification Numbers of Tangible Property.  One passenger, Clodualdo Serna, 42, of Tyler, was charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.  The other passenger, Marian Lopez, 25, of Tyler, was charged with Public Intoxication.

All three subjects were booked into Smith County Jail.

The juveniles were released to a parent.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but the young man's truck did sustained damage from a single gunshot.
