Salvation Army helps out at downtown fire

When the fire broke out in downtown Tyler Monday night, the Salvation Army sent their Disaster Van to provide on-the-scene assiatance.

Salvation Army's John Voight arrived at the fire around 12:30 Tuesday morning handing out sandwiches, water and coffee to first responders.

Fire officials are on fire watch to oversee any possible flare-ups. Voight will remain on standby to assist emergency crews who have dispatched to the downtown area from across East Texas.
