Free make-up, anyone?

You've heard the saying "the best things in life are free". Well, this week women across the country are getting free beauty products. The freebies come as a result of a 175 million dollar federal lawsuit settlement against cosmetic companies accused of fixing prices.

Some East Texas consumers are taking advantage of this beauty bonanza.

"Thank you! Have a good day," said the cashier.

Here at Dillard's, women are getting a select choice of Estee Lauder, Lancome, and Clinique products for free, that is, while they last.

"I've been using this for long time! So I got it," Glis Field of Waco, Texas laughed.

"It's always fun to get something free," laughed Helen Wedgeworth. "And it gives you a chance to try the new different products and see if you like them."

Dillard's is one of several department store like Macy's and Nordstrom who are distributing the beauty products for several cosmetic companies 175 million dollar lawsuit.

"We've ran out of a lot of products so what we have left is what we have left to disburse," said Elizabeth Syring, a cosmetics sales manager. "We get the opportunity to see a lot of people come in to our store. It's fun to have people visiting our store so therefore we've had a bump in business."

From full size shower gels to body creams, and cologne, getting these free perks are enough to make any money saver happy.

"Thirty-five dollars and I got it free, and it was a good deal and I'm so glad," said Field. "I'm so happy!"

A true reaction that it doesn't take a lot to make a lady happy.

"I'm happy. I hope I get this often so I don't have to pay because this is expensive," laughed Field.

There are some stipulations to get the free beauty products. Only consumers who purchased cosmetics from May of 1994 until July 2003 are eligible to receive the products. Also, you can only choose one free product while supplies last.
