TYLER, TX (KLTV) - He's a happy boy, always a smile on his face and a giggle in his heart. On this day, Christian is visiting the Discovery Science Place in Tyler. "I like to play outside," he says running from one exhibit to another.
He's an active 5 year old, always on the go. "Christian is just a really sweet, friendly little boy. He never meets a stranger, everybody is his best friend," says Dawn Richmond, his Case Manager.
He's a curious little boy who enjoys going to Pre-K. "1, 2, 3, 4, 5," Christian counts aloud."
"He loves school. He likes going to school, his friends, his lunch and when he comes home, you'll see what he ate that day and what activities he did that day because he'll be able to show you the paint or the spaghetti or the pizza on his shirt," explains Dawn.
"I see blue and red and purple and pink and green," says Christian turning the wheel on a display.
This young boy has spend more than two years in foster care. He will need a patient family willing to help him with a speech delay. Dawn says, "He suffered some neglect basically when he was younger and I don't think there was socialization there and so he just didn't learn to talk."
But make no mistake, he is making up for it now talking non-stop. I asked him, "Do you think you are cute?" With a coy smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes, he leans forward and replies, "Yes, I am."
"I think he's ready to go on and get a family where he can find his place and just settle right in," says Dawn. And he's hoping he will get his forever family soon.
