Man Wanted in Shooting Death Surrenders

A Longview man wanted in connection with a shooting death has turned himself in to the Gregg County Sheriff's Department.

After an intense manhunt to pinpoint 18 year old Sherman Martin's location, Martin gave himself up to sheriffs.

He was arrested two days after 24-year-old Bobby Simpson turned up dead near Kilgore.

Martin was arraigned Saturday morning on charges of murder, for the shooting death of Simpson.

He remains in the Gregg county jail on 100-thousand dollars bond.

    East Texas firefighters come to the rescue of angel tree kids. Big Sandy firefighters held two fund-raisers over the past week to help their local Angel Tree network. They collected enough donations to buy toys for 28 kids through the local group 'Agape House Ministries Angel Tree' coordinators.
