TYLER, TX (KLTV) - It all began around 6:00 p.m., Saturday when police say two men and a woman robbed another woman from Dallas in a church parking lot.  It happened on South Fleishel Avenue.  Police say they stole the woman's purse using a fake gun.  The victim police say was able to get a vehicle description and license plate number and called police.

Officers later caught up with the suspects around 6:50 p.m, and when they did the suspects gave chase.  The suspects eventually pulled over at the corner of Rice Road and Old Jacksonville Highway and then fled on foot.  The woman suspect, police say was taken into custody, but the men jumped a fence and ran into the woods.  Police say they went from one neighborhood to another.

"The two black males were out in a wooded area and officers blocked off a perimeter, and we've been spotting the suspects in different neighborhoods," said Tyler Police Officer Don Martin.  "We are still tracking them, and we have a K9 out here, we have a large perimeter set up, and we are still basically trying to apprehend them."  Police tell us the men responsible for tonight's robbery may have also robbed a woman at ETMC earlier this week.
