Dozens of East Texas employees are now unemployed. There is one less place for you to shop for electronics, dvd's and music. Word came today that Circuit City is going out of business including all the stores in East Texas both in Longview and Tyler.

The sales start sometime this weekend, but many of you may be wondering if your Circuit City electronics are still covered with purchased extended warrantees.

"The warrantees are covered thru a third party, so the eight-hundred numbers are still active they're going to come out with new numbers," said Tyler's Asst. Store Director Brandon Blear. "They'll be sending a letter in the mail, but assurant is the company that's actually covering that stuff right now. It will all be covered."

The bad news is the thirty day return policy will be reduced to fourteen, and anything purchased after the repricing will be non-returnable. Some customers are saddened at the news.

"As long as the third party is not in bankruptcy themselves," said customer Ron Jackson.

Circut City was the nation's second-largest consumer electronics retailer. Best Buy is the first.
