A domestic disturbance involving alcohol turns deadly, as a 29 year old woman is shot and killed, allegedly by her father. Cherokee County Sheriffs deputies were called to "shots fired" at a home on County Road 1103, just south of Rusk around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. The daughter argued with her father over his drinking of alcohol, then deputies say the father shot her with a shotgun. The woman's husband, who was watching cartoons with the couples two children,  then produced a handgun and shot the father twice in the head. The father is in critical condition at an area hospital. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Certainly the most difficult aspect would be dealing with the family , in this case there are young children that are in the vicinity of the alleged offense, making sure that their emotional, physical and well being is being provided for is usually the most difficult for officers" said Captain Chris White of the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office.

If the suspect in the case survives, deputies say he will be charged with murder.
