Kids donate money to Salvation Army

A special gift thanks to the hard work of some East Texas children.  The Kid's Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation presented the Salvation Army in Tyler with a check for more than $1,000 Saturday.  The Kid's Fund helps children in 3rd through 8th grade understand and participate in the process of giving.  A lot of the money came from the kids themselves.

"I babysat and saved a couple of dollars, and my dad agreed that if my grades were good he would give me a couple more dollars, and I just kept on earning and earning and earning," said Avery Brookshire.  East Texas Communities Foundation is a non-profit corporation serving 14 counties in East Texas.
