It's a chance to go fishing for fish not usually found in East Texas, and of course spend some quality time with your family. Saturday afternoon, the East Texas Woods and Waters Foundation along with Texas Parks & Wildlife held their annual Trails To Trout event. Wildlife experts filled Tyler's Nature Center Pond with 2,000 Rainbow Trout to provide a free fishing opportunity for area youth and their adult mentors.
"What we're doing, we have a kids trout fishing day, and we're going to have one next week to help get over the holidays, get the family out here to bring the kids out, enjoy the weather and do some trout fishing," said Texas Parks & Wildlife Kirk Pratas. The event continues Saturday, January 10th from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
