Judge Kennedy sworn in

As one judge hangs up her robe, another is excited to put hers on for the first time.

Judge Christi Kennedy was sworn in as judge of the 114th district. Kennedy is the fifth judge to take the bench in that court. She follows Judge Cynthia Kent, who retired yesterday.

Kennedy says she's been eagerly looking forward to this day and she can't wait to serve the citizens of Smith County.

"There's a host of judges here in Smith County, already, who are dispensing fair and impartial justice here everyday, and I look forward to joining them in this courthouse," said Judge Kennedy.

Judge Kennedy leaves behind years of practice.

She was also a partner with the Flowers-Davis Law Firm in Tyler for 8 years.
