East Texan sends present to Obama

An East Texan is making a special delivery to President Elect Obama.

Eddie Towles of Longview is sending the President-elect this hand craved wooden plaque that shows President-elect Brack Obama and civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr.

Towles says Longview resident Joe Peoples carved the plaque and when he showed it to Towles he was overwhelmed.

"I was just flabbergast by the beauty and the uniqueness of the portrait and I thought to myself that's it, that's got to be it. So I told him, 'You know what? I was trying to think of something to send our new president and I said this has got to be it,'" said Towles.

Towles says Michelle Obama is supposed to be in Chicago this week to pick up the gift.

He says both he and his wife will attend the inauguration.
