An exodus of South Texans trying to escape hurricane Lili has converged on East Texas, taking every hotel room available. For John and Linda Williams of Port Neches, they've been through it before and knew to get away early. With a few clothes and their family pets, the Johnsons, like many, will ride out the storm in our area and hope to go home soon. And along the way they meet neighbors doing the same. Its a necessary down side to living on the coast, but the Johnsons are keeping their sense of humor during the evacuation. And they know that this day will probably come again. The Red Cross has set up shelters for the weary travelers, expecting that many will not find hotel rooms, at the civic center in Marshall and at the Alpine Church of Christ on Loop 281.
