Barncastle Continues Star Power At Texas Tech

Jordan Barncastle led Martin's Mill to back to back state championship game appearances and was the state tournament MVP twice.

So it really should be no suprise that even as a freshman, she is already a star Texas Tech. Jordan has started in six games for tech. She has scored 79 points in 11 games with 5 blocks and she is the team's third leading rebounder.

Jordan discussed the transition from high school to college hoops.

"It's been a totally different level of competition," she said, "and it's been a lot more time consuming. Bbviously, I knew that coming in. But, it's more pressure, it's more competition. Everybody is bigger faster and stronger than me. I play a different role on this team than I'm used to. I think I'm beginning to come into that role and it's been awesome."

"I think the biggest thing with Jordan is just a passion to be a good for her team," Texas Tech coach Kristy Curry said. "She wants to do what it takes each and every day to make her team better. She's very selfless."
