An armed gunman tries to rob everyone inside and East Texas church, but the church members were not about to let this robber hurt any of their flock.
Henderson Police say at 7:45 Sunday night, the gunman walked into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Elm Street, where people were attending services. The gunman fired a shot outside, women scrambled the children to the back end of the church, then the gunman demanded everyone's wallet.
Men in the congregation formed a semi-circle, a human barrier between them and the gunman and their women and children, and they gently urged him outside the doors. The suspect fled into the nearby residential area.
"I really couldn't believe it when I first heard it, I can't imagine somebody robbing a church" said area neighbor Billie Allen.
No one was injured in the robbery. Right now, no arrests have been made, but Henderson police officials say they do have a suspect in this case.
