FRANK PERETTI FINDS MINISTRY IN CHRISTIAN FICTION FOR YOUTH

Christian author Frank Peretti and his wife don't have kids of their own, but he ministers to youth through his fiction.

Peretti's new novel "Nightmare Academy" places Christian twins Elijah and Elisha -- a brother and sister detective team -- in a school where there isn't any absolute truth. It's the second book of his series, "The Veritas Project," in which the faith of Christian teens is challenged in a post-modern world.

Peretti, who was bullied as a kid, told Religion and Ethics Newsweekly that he includes an anti-bullying message in his fiction. He says it's wrong to mar the dignity of young people who are made in God's image.
