Arp's Spears reunites with Johnson at Iowa State

Trinity Valley Community College had ten players commit to playing at four-year schools, led by Arp's Zack Spears who signed with Iowa State.

Spears, a high school teammate of current Iowa State player Sedrick Johnson, said having a familar face there helped his decision.

"Iowa State has always been one of my favorite college teams, and especially since my buddy Sedrick went up there. Whenever he signed there, we kind of made the deal that we wanted to play together at college."

"So I get to play with my old friend and teammate, it's going to be a good time."

Former Robert E. Lee cornerback Tim Hayter also signed with Lamar. Other Cardinals inking deals include James Cleveland (Houston), Michael Collins, Brian Johnson, John Turner, and Patrick Cook (Northeastern State), Jacob Fincher (SFA), Cornelius Rosenbaum (Angelo State), and Malcolm Williams (TCU).
