It was a throw-back to the days of the old west Saturday in Longview with what has become a signature event for the city, Dalton days. There was plenty of food, fun and music in the downtown area where the famous bank robbery was staged by the Dalton gang. There were lots of activities including pony rides for the kids and real chuck-wagon cooking. The big draw each year is the re-enactment of the 1894 bank robbery, in which the Dalton gang killed three men in broad daylight. Actors in the event say it's more about preserving a piece of old west history than having a reason to celebrate. It was the 8th year for Dalton days.
