Bird Tests Positive for West Nile in Longview

Health officials in Longview have confirmed that a dead bird in their area has tested positive for the West Nile Virus. The Longview Environmental Health Department has received confirmation that a dead blue-jay found in a South Longview neighborhood on September 18th was infected with West Nile. No mosquitos have tested positive yet for the virus. Although there is no danger to humans from the dead birds, it does confirm that the virus is in the Longview area.
