Minibus Inc., provides rides for elderly, sick and disabled East Texans in 13 counties, but limited funding may soon force the nonprofit to close its doors.
Satisfied customer George Domain of Tyler takes the bus to the Watson Wise Dialysis Center three times a week. He already spends most of his money on medications and cannot afford a car. George says losing the mini-bus service could put his health at risk. At least 15 to 20 other dialysis patients take the bus each week, according to the Watson Wise Center.
Minibus's started struggling financially last year when they picked up additional counties. Those counties had been dropped by another bus contractor.
