TYLER (KLTV)

Victim of CB&I shooting fondly remembered by family, friends

Tonight we are learning more about the victim in yesterday's shooting at CB&I in Tyler, 37 year old JoAnna Jones. She had a 10 year old daughter, Kyra, and had been an employee at CB&I for a few years. Earlier today, friends and family spoke to KLTV 7's Danielle Capper.

According to those that knew her best, JoAnna was an excellent person, a great mother to Kyra, and a good friend.

Even though she and her husband, Steve, had divorced. He had nothing but good things to say about her. Unable to go on camera, he said this in a statement:

Joanna is my best friend, an excellent wife. We made a conscious decision never to fight over Kyra. I love her with all my heart. She will be deeply missed.

"Just a real tenderhearted lady. Wonderful person to be with. Wonderful sense of humor. Really funny," said Tricia Walker.

Former coworker and friend Tricia says JoAnna moved here years ago from England, leaving behind her small hometown to start a new life in America, but still had her accent, something everyone loved.

"I admire the fact that she was able to just acclimate and flexible. That's the type of person she was very easy going. Able to adjust easily," said Tricia.

Adjusting to life after her divorce, Tricia says JoAnna had dated Hudnall for the past two years. She didn't know much about their relationship and can't believe what happened.

"I just want people to know that JoAnna was a wonderful person and that absolutely never deserved this, nobody did," said Tricia.

And her ex-husband Steve also added: I can't imagine what his (Michael Scot Hudnall's) family is going through. I don't hold anything against them or him. I've made a decision to forgive him.

Jones' body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy. Funeral arrangements are pending.
