Man wanted for two aggravated robberies

Tyler police are also investigating two aggravated robberies they say were committed by the same man.  The first happened just before 1:00 a.m., Saturday in the 900 Block of Boyd Street. That's where police say the man was picked up by a taxi driver.  A short time later, police say the man pointed a gun at the taxi driver, hit the driver in the head with a metal pipe and demanded money. The robber then fled on foot.

About three hours later, police say the same man hit the Exxon Speedy Stop in the 1500 Block of South Vine Avenue.  The robber failed to get any money, but police say he did take two packs of cigarettes and a drink.

The robber is described as a black male in his mid thirties.  He was last seen wearing a red jacket and baseball cap.  Call Tyler police if you saw anything.
