Britney is a polite and friendly young lady. She's also a typical 14 year old who enjoys listening to music and spending time with her friends. "I like to go to the movie and I love to go the mall," says Britney. But not everything about her is typical of a teenager. "The best thing about me I'd have to say is, I don't really talk on the telephone as much as most people do. I hardly ever talk on the telephone. Also, cleaning is my hobby." Britney goes on to say, "I'm one of those people who doesn't like to curse, and I hate to get in trouble. That's the worst thing I hate to do. I hate to get in trouble." Despite a background of neglect, Britney has a great disposition; always smiling. She's been in Foster Care for six years and would like a permanent home. "Cause I haven't had one and I want to know what it feels like. I'm tired of moving around," says Britney sincerely. She's hoping to find a forever family. "To make me feel loved, and at least I'll know I have someone who will care for me," explains this teenager. Britney desperately wants to be adopted and to be "just like the other kids." She says, "I'd like to be in a home where I'm an only child so I can get more attention, cause I haven't had the attention that I want from parents." Charlotte Sanders, an adoption worker from Child Protective Services, says, "Britney is a survivor. She's basically raised herself. She missed out on having a mom and I think that's very important to her. She didn't have a mom to give her the nurturing and support." Britney's ambition in life is to be a Pediatric Nurse, but her immediate goal is for the Gift of Love and she's eager to start a new life. "I'd like to tell them as soon as I get home, 'I love you and glad I'm here,'" says Britney with a shy smile.
