Winnsboro woman found dead from gunshot in her home

Early Monday morning, the Wood County Sheriff's Department received a phone call from Franklin County Sheriff's Department, asking Wood County to do a welfare check at 3945 CR 4660 in Winnsboro.

When deputies got there, they found a woman, indentified as Joy Elizabeth Glasgow, dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

The body has been sent off for an autopsy, and CID investigators were on-scene Monday. We'll bring you more details on the case as we receive them.
