Four similar robberies investigated in Longview

The Longview Police Department is currently investigating four similar robberies of convenience stores that have occurred within the past week. 

The robberies happened at these times and locations:

-November 7, 2008 11:02 p.m. at the Food Fast at 2300 Gilmer Road

-November 9, 2008 10:15 p.m. at the Roadrunner Superette at 1917 Judson Road

-November 10, 2008 10:00 p.m. at the Food Fast at 2851 North Eastman Road

-November 11, 2008 6:44 p.m. at the Bill's #3 at 2309 North Eastman Road

In each of these robberies, the suspect is a black male, 5'05"-5'07" tall, approximately 160-170 pounds with a medium build.  The suspect typically enters each store and pulls out a handgun, demanding money from the clerk, while wearing gloves and a toboggan type cap or other dark colored head covering.  The suspect then leaves the stores on foot.

Extra patrols and specialized units are being utilized to monitor convenience stores and all investigative resources have been allocated in an effort to capture this suspect. 

The LPD wants to remind residents to be extra vigilant while out shopping.  Always be aware of your surroundings, secure valuables in the trunk of your vehicle, park in well lit areas if shopping after dark and never leave purses or other valuables unattended in shopping carts.
