Gay marriage in becomes legal in Connecticut Wednesday

Today is a historic day in Connecticut as gay marriage becomes legal.

Connecticut joins Massachusetts as the only states where same sex couples can tie the knot. A judge in New Haven has cleared the way for same-sex marriage s following last month's historic state Supreme Court decision.

Superior Court Judge Jonathan Silbert held a brief hearing this morning and ruled that gay and lesbian couples can pick up marriage license forms at town and city clerks' offices statewide.

Many gay and lesbian couples are planning ceremonies Wednesday. State Representative Beth Bye and her partner, Tracey Wilson, are hoping to make history by becoming the first gay couple to marry in their hometown of West Hartford.
