A homeowners case to see if he has the right to keep lions and tigers at his house went before a Franklin county judge Thursday. The court ruled that Charles Earhardt and his family are guilty of misdemeanor possession of a wild animal for keeping a lion and three tigers at his home near Mount Vernon. Earhardt maintains he was only keeping them while trying to find an acceptable refuge or private reserve for them. Earhardt was fined ten-thousand dollars and he will be fined 250 dollars a day until he removes the cats from the area. The Earhardts plan to appeal the decision.
