Beginning on Wednesday, November 12, the portion of Old Omen Road from Chapel Woods Boulevard south to the three-way intersection of Old Omen Road, Old Bascom Road (CR 2120) and CR 262 will be temporarily closed for construction.
During the road closure, drivers will be detoured.
The detour will be in place for at least three months while Old Omen Road is under construction. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and heed warning signs while driving in this area.
The city of Tyler says the closure will save the city approximately $64,000 and will allow for a safer work site for the installation of utilities that will be placed 15 feet underground. They also said that residents who will be most impacted by the closure will be contacted by the contractor, A.E. Shull, who will explain the closure and alternate routes.
