The lions put together a five game winning streak that helped propel them to the playoffs.

"Nobody thought we were going to go to the playoffs but as soon as we started winning everybody wanted to jump on our back and say, 'oh ya'll are good,'" Billy Thompkins said. "But last year it was a different story. This year they know we're winning. They know we're good this year."

John Tyler enters the playoffs with a 5-5 record.

"We came together more as a family," quarterback Jeremy Johnson said.

John Tyler will play Killeen Shoemaker (4-6) at 5 p.m. in Midlothian.
