Loop 281 Road Work

Getting in your vehicle and driving from point 'a' to point 'b' is taking a little longer these days in Longview.

That's because of massive road work that has begun on loop 281.

Road work ahead, the dredded sign. "I'm late to work evryday I work at Albertsons," says Jennifer Alexander.

It does get frustrating sometimes especially when you're a/c don't work in my van," says Dan Huckleby.

In our busy world of course getting stuck in traffic gets frustrating, right? Not everyone agrees.

"Always," says Jennfer Alexander.  Her mother Roberta says, "it don't matter to me."

"We just going to Walmart though so it ain't that big a deal," says one driver.

"Yes I do but generally there's not that big of a problem so it's okay," says another.

And no, there's no way out of the line.

Some drivers dart in an out of traffic.

While others pass the time by talking on the phone.

It took us 10 minutes to get through one intersection.

And just in time for the light to turn red.

Leaving the other drivers to wait, again.

Tx-dot is putting new pavement on loop 281 to extend the life of the roadway.

The project is expected to cost more than a million dollars and should be completed by the end of October.
