LONGVIEW (KLTV)

We find our own John McCain name-twin

Last night at 10, we introduced you to John McCain's mini-me, an Indiana four year old who share's the GOP candidate's famous handle. Now, KLTV 7's Danielle Capper has unearthed another Jon McCain, living right here in East Texas.

"Jon McCain, you're needed to the showroom floor please. Jon McCain to the showroom floor," we hear over the loudspeaker.

Well, he wasn't quite what I expected.

"Yeah, a little bit younger."

This is 20 year old Jon McCain of Mt. Pleasant.

"I'm a full time student at North Texas Community College, majoring in political science believe it or not," Jon told us.

This Jon is also a car salesman. We asked him what he thought about being a name twin with the presidential candidate.

"It's a lot of fun. I get alot of jokes. Lot of political conversation. Sometimes people say, oh, I can't buy from you. It's been real positive for my career. It's name recognition."

Jon loves meeting people, and the name thing - well, it just works.

"Welcome to Mt Pleasant Toyota. I'm Jon McCain."

"Jon McCain? If he gets elected then I can afford to buy a car?" asked one customer.

"That's right, you come to see me and I'll get you the presidential discount," said Jon.

"Obama, did you sell one? Not today, but I'm going to work on it."

Obama? I'm confused.

"My name may be Jon McCain but he says I look like Obama. Sometimes I roll the sleeves up a little bit," laughed Jon.

Jon says he's had fun with it all, sometimes introducing himself as the next president.

"With a name like Jon McCain, I've got to vote for the man," said Jon. "I'm Jon McCain and I approve this message."

We asked this 20 year old full time student who owns a house what he will be when he's 40.

His answer - President of the United States.

Just a side note, we did find a few other John McCains - one in Tyler and Gilmer.

But we did not find any Barack Obamas in East Texas.
