Fatal Nacogdoches house fire kills four

Two women and two children were killed in an early morning home fire in Nacogdoches on Wednesday.

According to Nacogdoches Fire Chief Keith Kiplinger, the Nacogdoches Fire Department was called to a mobile home fire at 3309 Old Tyler Road just before 5:00 am on Wednesday.

Firefighters arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames.

According to reports from the scene, a next-door neighbor was awakened by noises and saw the fire. The neighbor attempted to make entry into the home, but the fire was too intense.

Firefighters located the bodies of four people in a back bedroom of the residence. The victims have been identified as Marias Galacia, 27; her niece Maria Isabela Robles, age 23, and her two children Leslie Oyuky, age 4 and Genis Clemente, age 3. All were pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 Dorothy Tigner-Thompson.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the NFD's Fire Investigation Unit, with assistance from the Nacogdoches Police Department.
