An office inside the Smith County Courthouse was vacated Tuesday after tests confirmed the presence of black mold.
The mold was discovered within the District Attorney's office on the fourth floor. An employee noticed the suspicious substance last week, and experts were brought in to do testing.
Right now, it's the only confirmed mold case in the building, but county officials expect more test results Wednesday.
"They ran air quality tests on the third and fourth floors," according to Smith County Judge Larry Craig. "As soon as we get those results back, then we'll determine how extensive we need to pursue the rest of it."
