Rose Festival Parade attracts hundreds

Fanfare was in the air.  The 75th Annual Texas Rose Festival Parade attracted hundreds of East Texans to Tyler.  Young and old lined Front Street to get a first hand view of this years fanciful floats, all awaiting the arrival of the Rose Queen.

"It's been a blast," said parade goer Lydia Jepson.  "It's really been an awesome experience.  I'm sad it's almost over."  Jepsen said she loved the Queen's pretty dress and crown.  Her mother, Dena, said she'd never seen anything like it.

"We don't have bands like that in Alaska," said Dena.  "I've never seen artwork like that on a dress."  This year's Rose Festival events wrap up, Sunday afternoon with an arts and craft fair at Tyler's Bergfeld Park.
