It draws thousands to Tyler every year, and Thursday night, the celebration was underway.
The Tyler Rose Festival officially kicked off at the Rose Garden Center. This year's Rose Queen, Sarah Clyde, cut the ribbon to get the celebrations started.
Even if you missed opening ceremonies, there are plenty of activities throughout the week. This year's theme is "A Royal Tribute To The Rose".
The Queen's Royal Court for the Texas Rose Festival was also introduced to Tyler today. The Court, with all their fine gowns, were presented at the Cowan Fine Arts Center. Another presentation of the coronation will be held tonight at 7:30 pm.
You can catch the 2008 Texas Rose Festival Parade at 9:30 Saturday morning. The Parade runs west from Glenwood Blvd. and Front Street into the Trinity Mother Francis Rose Stadium.
