Report: Romo Willing To Play on Sunday

Tony Romo is down but may not be out.

ESPN reports the quarterback told coaches he is ready and willing to play through an injury this Sunday against the St. Louis Rams. ESPN credits the report to a high-ranking Cowboys source.

Romo suffered a broken pinkie finger on his throwing hand in Sunday's loss to Arizona. It was expected that Romo would miss the next four weeks of the season.

Romo did not practice Wednesday but reportedly was seen throwing the ball on the sidelines.

ESPN's report says a phone call from veteran quarterback Brett Favre encouraged Romo to play through the injury. Favre once played with a fractured thumb.

It is ultimately up to the Cowboys coaches and medical staff to decide if Romo will play.
