3rd climber of NY Times building pleads not guilty

A Connecticut man has pleaded not guilty to endangering the public by scaling part of The New York Times' skyscraper in midtown Manhattan.

David Malone was arraigned Thursday on charges of misdemeanor trespass and reckless endangerment for the stunt on July 9. The 29-year-old reached the 11th floor of the 52-story building before descending to a ledge and talking to police on his cell phone.

Malone has said he was trying to publicize his book about terrorists. He was the third climber to scale the building's ladderlike exterior this summer.

His lawyer says Malone took "extraordinary" precautions to make sure nobody was hurt.
