Kilgore Union Steel Workers Still Locked Out

200 union steel workers remain off the job and on the picket line. The lock-out of a Kilgore business has been happening for almost three months.

Local steelworkers union 00166 were locked out of their jobs on a contract dispute from Mansfield plumbing plant in Kilgore back on May 31st.

Workers say the contract would have meant cuts in benefits and as much as four dollars less an hour for workers, so they decided to picket instead of take the contract.

Some movement has occurred recently, giving workers hope that talks will begin again. They hope this will end a tough time for workers who need their jobs back.
