Armed robbery suspect escapes police following chase in Longview

LONGVIEW (KLTV) - A robbery suspect escapes police after leading them on a chase through South Longview Tuesday night.

Police believe the person they were chasing is responsible for robbing the Quick Stop convenience store in the 1,100 block of West Marshall Avenue Tuesday night.

Police spotted a suspect vehicle with no headlights on and began chasing eastbound on West Marshall Ave.

A KLTV news crew in the area spotted the chase going on Spur 63 towards the Gregg County Fairgrounds.

Police believe the suspect was able to get away from the perimeter set up by officers. But they tell us money, a t-shirt and a weapon were all found in the suspect's vehicle which was found early Wednesday morning at an apartment complex near Lake Lamond.

KLTV 7 has also learned one officer did receive minor injuries during the chase trying to scale a fence.
