Celebrating the event's fifth anniversary, the 2008 Boo Ball is set for 7-11:30 p.m., Saturday, October 25, at Rick's On the Square (104 W. Erwin in downtown Tyler), announced event chairs; Sherry and J.D. Osborn, Sherilyn and Patrick Willis; and honorary chairs, Tyler Mayor Barbara Bass and Billy Bass. A fundraiser for The Arc of Smith County, the Boo Ball is a Halloween party for adults, featuring fantastic food, spooky spirits, dancing and a live band. Back by popular demand this year, an Elvis impersonator will be making an appearance as well. The Boo Ball will also feature a silent auction. Pumpkins, hand-decorated by special needs citizens served by The Arc, will be sold for $50 each at the Boo Ball. The lucky purchaser of one special pumpkin will receive a diamond bezel Michele Watch (underwritten by Cole & Co.) valued at $1,700. Boo Ball tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling 903-597-0995. The theme this year is "Hawaii 5-0" to tie in with the event's fifth anniversary.
