Driver Hits Tyler Police Officer

A Tyler Police officer was hit by a car Tuesday morning, while trying to solve a string of burglaries at Nationwide Mobile Home sales lot. Officer Chris Moore with Tyler P.D., says there's been at least two burglaries at the lot this past week.

Officer Matt Leigeber was investigating the burglaries when he noticed a suspicious man run to a van parked nearby. That man then drove toward Leigeber, striking him in the leg. Leigeber received only minor bruises on his knee.

The suspect's vehicle is described a white, Chrysler-dodge style, mini-van. It's possibly an early 90s model.

The person responsible is a black man, between 18 and 24.
He's approximately six feet tall and was last seen wearing dark clothes.
