Mission accomplished. Corporal Khristopher Prince wanted to surprise his family and did just that.
"I knew he was coming home in October, but I didn't know when," said his mother Rachel Prince. "This is total shock to us."
"It feels great," said CPL Prince. "It's a great thing to be able to come back home and have your family here to meet you." Saturday, was also his dad's birthday, so Prince thought this would be the best present.
"Every time I would call, he was always like 'when you coming home when you coming home?', so I thought I would surprise him." And what's even more special about this reunion is his 7-month-old baby girl; now meeting her daddy for the very first time.
"It's been very hard on him you know, he's seen pictures on the Internet, but he'd never held her and never, you know, cuddled her, so this is just real special," said Rachel Prince.
"Oh, it was just amazing," said his wife Marquita Randle-Prince. "I guess he was just amazed at how big she was, but it was very exciting seeing them finally meet. He has a lot of catching up to do." And for now, they'll have 18 days to play catch up while Prince is on R&R leave.
"Well, I'm hoping that we get to take a little vacation just him and I," said Marquita.
"He's home safe you know, we're so glad to have him home," said Rachel. This is also the first time in 10 months Prince has seen his 2-year old son.
